If you've got a website and a pulse, then you'll probably want
to know how well your site is ranked against the others.
SERP checks and Google's PageRank score are without a doubt the best indicators of that
on today's internet. Use this page anytime you want to know how your page is doing against any
other pages on the web.
Check the actual Google Search Engine Ranking
Position of your site with five of your keywords to the top page with this handy online tool from JimTools.
Google PageRank tools from SEOChat
These two tools from SEOChat are great helpers
for those concerned with their Google PageRank. The first is a seperate-from-the-toolbar PR Meter.
Just need the PageRank score for an URL but you don't want to (or can't) load the Google Toolbar?
Just plug your URL into the first box below and we'll take care of the rest. This box also supports
multiple URLs at once, something the toolbar can't even do!
The second box is a bit more profound. It uses the
Google Search Engine in a way that Brin and Sergy never intended for it to be used. It is little more
than a Google Search allowing you to factor in PageRank score as the dominant factor, although you can
search by relevance too. Basically, it's a way of seeing who is scoring the highest for your keywords
in Google.
This helpful calculator from markhorrell.com
is for calculating your PageRank (via Google) not among the web, but on your local website, across
your own Domain. Great for all kinds of uses, but particularly important when you are trying to
"spread the PageRank around" on your domain. It models the behaviour of the PageRank algorithm
used by the Google engine for measuring the importance of pages on the web. Great for finding the
best linking strategy for your web site(s) in order to rank highly on Google. Highly recommended for
those who want to evenly distribute their links and PageRank!
Don't ask me why, but Yahoo! decided to publish a
toolbar with their equivilent of a PageRank score, available in a toolbar like Google's. Some serious
SEO tweakers may have a reason to go by that number too, although adding yet another Toolbar to their
browser is a pain in the you-know-where. Luckily for them, DPS made this nifty application with them
in mind.
Okay, it's not exactly search engine ranking, but
close enough. Directories, by and large, are actually more important to be submitted to anyway. This
tool will check to see if an URL appears in some of the most important Internet Directories, such as
DMOZ, Gimpsy, Yahoo, Zeal and others.
Simply enter an URL and press the 'Check' button.
On the next page, you will see an output which will say whether the URL does appear on the directory
in question. This is also a great way to see if your competitors are also listed here. Using this
tool, you can decide whether to join them or even join before they do, to give you an added boost to
your web rankings.
